K & N Filters are one of the best known brands in the world. Most people will say that K & N make air filters. Not too many people outside of car enthusiasts realize that they also make some of the best cold air intake systems also.

A cool air intake system is designed to replace the stock air box and air filter on automobiles. These intake devices draw in air from the hot engine compartment and they typically have restrictions in the air flow path. These restrictions slow down and limit the amount of air entering your engine.

If you want more power you need both colder air and less restrictions interfering with the air flow path.

Colder air is denser than hotter air, and denser air can carry more oxygen. More oxygen simply means that you can increase the horsepower in your car when this extra oxygen mixes with your fuel and ignites and burns.

Typically stock air boxes are designed for noise reductions and not necessarily for more power.

By replacing your stock parts with a K & N cold air intake system you increase your horsepower.
